The First Impression on Korea

Our plane was 2 hours late to Seoul because of the frog in Inch’o Airport. Despite the tiring of dalay, exciting broke out the moment I stood on the Korean land.

Seoul is not as modern as I thought before, but it is more neat and tidy than Shanghai. It is based on the mountanious region which is also very different from Shanghai.

Regarding that we have no idea about Korean, Korea University had assigned buddies for each of us to help us in Korea. My buddy names Jeon Chang Gyum. He is now junior in KU majoring in Economics or something like that. Since he dosen’t know Chinese, we have to communicate with each other in English. It seems a big trouble for me because in most of time I cannot express myself clearly with my poor spoken English.

KU is said one of the most beautiful universities in Korea, and it really is. There are many grand European-style buildings around every corner of the campus, which leave me a very deep impression. The inner decoration of SAMSUNG building is so gallant that I cannot even describe it in words.

Everything in Korea seems more expensive than it in China. It is very hard to find things whose prices are lower than 2000 won(16 RMB). Regardless of the price, the food in Korea is very dilicious since its hot taste suits me well.

Yesterday we exchange students took a city tour around Seoul and watched Korea-famous performance — Nanta. Nanta is Korea’s smash-hit percussion musical performed at the theater all year round. It transforms the rhythms of Samulnori into creative music using knives, pots and pans, plates and other kitchen utensils as musical instruments. Of course, the pricepf ticket is very high.

Not knowing any Korean has brought me many troubles in daily life, but I’m sure it will be better after my learning of Korean.
